Sure but, why?
Kebabs are famous in many countries, particularly in Turkey. Especially, families going on a picnic on weekends use kebab skewers often. However, materials used to make kebab skewers are essential to human health and food safety.
Experts recommend not to use skewers that are coated with oxide, chromium or tin to grill kebabs. Commonly used iron kebab skewers may be oxidized and result in health problems. Food experts indicate that in contact with moisture and air, iron skewers may rust and using rusty skewers may be dangerous for health.
Skewers Should Be Made of Stainless Materials
Rust, other dangerous substances and metals may contact with meat during cooking. That creates a huge health risk for the people who eat those meals.
Metal-based materials or tools can be coated with oxide, chromium or tin. Actually, this coating process results in rustiness and threaten food safety. Skewers that are not made of stainless materials are commonly coated with metal-based materials.
